Tools & Equipment Operation

Students will gain hands-on experience operating the tools and equipment used in underground and overhead construction. Training includes practical operation of a digger derrick, bucket truck, and crane, with a strong emphasis on adhering to established worksite safety protocols and industry standards.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Identify tools, materials, and equipment used in underground and overhead construction
• Demonstrate safe and effective operation of a digger derrick, bucket truck, and crane
• Apply proper underground and overhead construction and maintenance methods
• Follow OSHA and worksite safety regulations during equipment operation
• Perform basic inspection and preventative maintenance procedures on tools and equipment

This course prepares students with the foundational knowledge and practical skills required for entry-level positions in utility construction, line work, and related trades.
