IMEA 610 Wood Pole Climbing Workshop (#060225)
This workshop is designed to provide personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to be designated a wood pole qualified climber. IMEA instructors provide instruction on wood pole characteristics, inspection of wood pole climbing equipment, wood pole safe climbing techniques, basic rope knots and splicing, and pole top rescue. Upon successful completion, participants will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill needed for the employer to designate the participant as a qualified wood pole climber. Participants will engage in classroom instruction and field exercises including wood pole inspection, climbing equipment inspection, wood pole climbing, rope knot tying and rigging, hand line use, hanging cross arms, basic tool use, and performing pole-top rescue. Successful skills demonstration and written examination is required for course completion.

Campus Lodging & Fees
Sait Joseph’s College has apartment style housing available for IMEA apprentices. Each apartment has 5 private bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, common living area & kitchen and a patio or balcony. We will not put more than 4 apprentices per apartment and will make every attempt to keep it at 3. If you would like to take advantage of on-campus lodging, please bring your normal toiletries, wash cloths and towels.
Campus lodging fee is $300.00 (no taxes) per person.
