IMEA 611 Basic Workshop
The IMEA 611 Basic Workshop provides utility personnel with foundational training in underground and overhead electric distribution construction, consistent with OSHA requirements and accepted utility industry practices.
Instruction includes classroom and hands-on field training in 200/600-amp underground distribution system construction and overhead distribution construction, as well as fundamental electric principles and Ohm’s Law. Participants also receive introductory training in bucket truck and digger derrick operation under de-energized conditions.
Upon successful completion, participants will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills required for tool and material identification, basic equipment operation, and basic underground and overhead construction and maintenance methods.

Campus Lodging & Fees
St. Joseph’s College has apartment style housing available for IMEA apprentices. Each apartment has 5 private bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, common living area & kitchen and a patio or balcony. We will not put more than 4 apprentices per apartment and will make every attempt to keep it at 3. If you would like to take advantage of on-campus lodging, please bring your normal toiletries, wash cloths and towels.
Campus lodging fee is $300.00 (no taxes) per person.
