IMEA 610 Wood Pole Climbing Workshop
This workshop is designed to provide personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to be designated a wood pole qualified climber. IMEA instructors provide instruction on wood pole characteristics, inspection of wood pole climbing equipment, wood pole safe climbing techniques, basic rope knots and splicing, and pole top rescue. Upon successful completion, participants will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill needed for the employer to designate the participant as a qualified wood pole climber. Participants will engage in classroom instruction and field exercises including wood pole inspection, climbing equipment inspection, wood pole climbing, rope knot tying and rigging, hand line use, hanging cross arms, basic tool use, and performing pole-top rescue. Successful skills demonstration and written examination is required for course completion.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received 5 days prior to the start date of class. After that date, fees will be charged for expenses incurred by IMEA.
NOTE: Registration Fee is for Workshop only. The Apprentice Study Guides and Textbooks for the Apprentice Program are separate and will be invoiced separately should you decide to enter the Apprentice program. A Study Guide is required for each of the four workshops. The set of books are used throughout all four workshops, so they are a one-time charge.
